The holidays have so far been quite enjoyable for me =). I'm right now taking driving lessons so that I can get my license. There are 7 lessons in total; had my first one yesterday. My mum decided that I should learn how to drive a manual car, and not an automatic one. I've had experience driving an auto car before, but driving a manual car is much harder because I've got to change gears and stuff. And it's really tiring, especially here where there're lots of traffic jams. Anyway, yesterday, the instructor told me to sit in the driver's seat right away and to drive out of the apartment. Was quite shocked cos I thought he'd drive to a quiet spot or something and teach me there. The street outside the apartment is very congested. I mean there are really lots of cars and I didn't know when to turn so that I can get out to the street. So it wasn't a surprise really that I crashed into a car. Fortunately for me, there was no dent on the other car. I don't know what would've happened if there was actually a dent. Oh well..felt really frightened, especially there were cars honking here and there and people staring at me...it certainly wasn't the nicest feeling. Driving is really quite tricky. I still haven't learnt how to change gears smoothly, so at times, the car would jump and the engine would get turned off and I've to stop to turn on the engine again. My mum decided to accompany me today for my second lesson. She was quite scared I'd crash again, which I nearly did. Since I still couldn't change gears smoothly, the car 'jumped' quite a few times. It was really funny..she was screaming telling me to slow down while talking on the phone at the same time. And my sense of direction isn't that good either, so... But driving is fun. It's quite exciting and I feel that somehow, I'm in control..
MU beat Stuggart 2-0 yesterday, but Arsenal also won. And my brother keeps on rubbing in the fact that Arsenal went from Champions League no-hopers to group winners, as stated in Soccernet. Honestly, all three of us thought that Arsenal wouldn't qualify for the second phase after they could only get 1 point from 3 games, but obviously we were so wrong. That's why my brother is quite gleeful now.
I'm totally addicted to TV (ok..as if I never was). But really..I'm like watching soccer programs on ESPN, soccer matches, replays of matches, music videos on MTV and Channel [V] and somehow, I seem to find a movie to watch every other night, be it on Cinemax or Star Movies or whatever. And obviously I've been slacking...Darn...Gotta buck up if I want to stick to my promise.
