Tired
Just came back from studying at Orchard Library with Huiling and Yuan Jin. Have been going there to study with them for quite a few times during the holidays. Frankly I feel quite tired now. My brain is like totally saturated and I've been sleeping late. Don't know how I'm going to wake up on Monday. Before the last round of group matches for Euro 2004, I had been staying up till 2am to find out the results of the earlier matches. And tomorrow I'm going to watch Portugal vs England too. Oh well.. anyway I played tennis yesterday for the first time in like quite some time. Obviously, I felt very rusty. Suddenly the racket felt very heavy and my stamina also really sucked. I was already very tired after like only 15 minutes, which included warming up. Terrible. Anyway I heard Linkin Park's concert was good. I called Huiling yesterday, who was standing outside Padang with Jessie, Yuan Jin, Jane and Gabrielle, and it was really loud. I could hear them through the phone. My brothers and my father just came back from a short holiday to Perth yesterday morning, so at least now I'm not so lonely here. So unfair they got to go to Perth again! And they also got to go sandboarding. Last December when we went there, it was too hot for us to go sandboarding. And when they went there this time, there weren't any flies also cos it's not summer. Sigh..

England Won

Quite happy England won 4-2 this morning. It means that they'll be playing Portugal in the quarter finals. Friday morning...I'm definitely going to watch the match. Anyway I've decided to include this song below cos my previous blog skin was based on that song.

A MOMENT LIKE THIS (Kelly Clarkson)

What if I told you
It was all meant to be
Would you believe me
Would you agree
It's almost that feelin'
That we've met before
So tell me that you don't think I'm crazy
When I tell you love has come and now

A moment like this
Some people wait a lifetime
For a moment like this
Some people search forever
For that one special kiss
Oh, I can't believe it's happening to me
Some people wait a lifetime
For a moment like this

Everything changes
But beauty remains
Something so tender
I can't explain
Well I maybe dreamin'
But 'till I awake
Can we make this dream last forever
And I'll cherish all the love we share

A moment like this
Some people wait a lifetime
For a moment like this
Some people search forever
For that one special kiss
Oh, I can't believe it's happening to me
Some people wait a lifetime
For a moment like this

Could this be the greatest love of all
I wanna know that you will catch me when I fall
So let me tell you this
Some people wait a lifetime

For a moment like this
Some people spent two lifetimes
For a moment like this
Some people search forever
For that one special kiss
Oh, I can't believe it's happening to me
Some people wait a lifetime
For a moment like this

New Skin!
I've decided to change my skin cos I was getting a bit sick with my old one, though I really like that one a lot. Anyway this one is still a bit messy. Came across this skin and I thought that since I'm an Avril fan, I shall use this. Her new album rocks anyway! But I don't really like this song. I'm going to try to find a nicer one. If I can't, then I'll just delete the music altogether. Anyway, think I better get back to studying now. Sigh...

Mixed Feelings
I have mixed feelings about my SAT II scores. On one hand, I am happy with my Math and Chem scores, but on the other hand, I think my Writing score totally sucks. Don't know if I should retake writing again. But then, if I do retake it, it would have to be in October. Not the best time. Sigh. I had already expected this to happen. Anyway, Holland lost 2-3 to Czech Republic after squandering a two-goal lead. Argh.. another team that I support lose to late goals. Holland deserves to get into the quarter finals instead of Germany. From what I've read, they really played well. I hope they get into the quarters then I can watch them as well.

I really need tons of discipline and sense of urgency right now. Only one week of holidays left. But then I also want to watch soccer since the quarter final matches are going to be shown on tv.

OCEAN AVENUE (Yellowcard)

There's a place off Ocean Avenue
Where I used to sit and talk with you
We were both 16 and it felt so right
Sleeping all day, staying up all night
Staying up all night

There's a place on the corner of Cherry Street
We would walk on the beach in our bare feet
We were both 18 and it felt so right
Sleeping all day, staying up all night
Staying up all night

If I could find you now things would get better
We could leave this town and run forever
Let your waves crash down on me and take me away

There's a piece of you that's here with me
It's everywhere I go, it's everything I see
When I sleep, I dream and it gets me by
I can make believe that you're here tonight
That you're here tonight

If I could find you now things would get better
We could leave this town and run forever
I know somewhere, somehow we'll be together
Let your waves crash down on me and take me away

I remember the look in your eyes
When I told you that this was goodbye
You were begging me not tonight
Not here, not now
We're looking up at the same night sky
And keep pretending the sun will not rise
Be together for one more night
Somewhere, somehow

If I could find you now things would get better
We could leave this town and run forever
I know somewhere, somehow we'll be together
Let your waves crash down on me and take me away

Very Sad...England Lost
Sigh.. England lost 1-2. What makes me even more sad is that they lost to two goals scored in the dying minutes and that they had missed earlier in the game. They could've won 2-0! Even then, victory was very likely until the closing minutes. I hope England can bounce back and reach the quarter finals. Then I can finally see them in action. Sigh... If that wasn't enough, Lakers also lost to Pistons and now they're down 1-3 and with a huge mountain to climb. For no team has ever come back from 1-3 down to win the NBA title. And obviously.. my brother was totally gloating about these defeats for England and Lakers. Really..today's such a bad day. Not only that, I totally wasted my time today. Didn't finish what I was supposed to do. It took me like forever to finish Energetics. Most of the time, I was just stoning and stoning. Hopefully I will have that sense of urgency so that I will be motivated to study.

On a lighter note, I went to have a haircut today. Was quite fed up with tying up my hair all the time, so decided to have it cut real short. Now, I must get used to the shorter fringe which keeps falling down. Quite irritating. And I also listened to this MU CD which was recorded after they won the Treble, I think. The songs very upbeat with familiar tempo and quite funny lyrics. My brother, who is an Arsenal fan, listened to some of the songs. He found them quite amusing but obviously, he wasn't impressed. Haha. Watched Bend It Like Beckham last night. It was quite hilarious. Oh well.. Andy Roddick just recorded fastest serves (aces of course) over the weekend. And I missed seeing them. Sigh.. after the dreaded block tests, I will watch soccer and Wimbledon (hopefully I can go to my aunt's house to watch). But that's like 3 weeks away still. Sigh..

My Birthday = Euro 2004's Opening Match
I just realised that Euro 2004's opening match fell on my birthday. Gosh I'm really slow. But i think it's quite cool. Actually, it's supposed to be France vs England match that's on my birthday, but then, it's actually tomorrow morning S'pore time. That's the one I actually wanted to watch, and Channel 5 is not going to show it. So lousy.. they're only going to show matches from quarters onwards. Anyway Portugal's match was a disaster. I've never really liked Portugal much but against Greece, I was supporting them, partly cos of Ronaldo. Who would've expected them to lose, 1-2, to Greece, of all teams? And Ronaldo looked ugly with his gigantic earrings. If England wins against France, that would be a perfect birthday present for me. And a Lakers win as well.

Sigh I feel so fat now. Just went to Gengis Khan with my mum and my brother for lunch. Gosh..ate so much. But the lunch was really delicious. Last week it was my father who took us for dinner at Swensen's and lunch at Cafe Cartel, cos he knows he won't be here for my birthday. Must really thank my parents for pampering me so much. Feel quite bad for wasting so much of their money.

Went out with Jessie, Huiling and Yuan Jin on Thursday to go cycling at Pasir Ris. I realised I haven't gone cycling for quite a while. Obviously it took me a while to get used to cycling again. And my bike sucks. It made like Tweety Bird noises when I was paddling hard. And I fell down twice. So embarrassing. Oh well. But it was nice to cycle again and to meet up with friends whom I haven't seen for quite a while. And the view was beautiful also. We also went to the playground. While Jessie and Yuan Jin were playing with the swings, me and Huiling went to explore the rest of the playground. Then we decided to play with this slide that was quite high up. I was quite scared when I was climbing up to go to the slide cos I'm a bit scared of heights. And then all those little kids were like happily climbing up. They looked as if they were mocking us. And then when we started to actually slide down, we realised that we couldn't actually slide down cos we were too big. So we had to push our way down. We felt so stupid afterwards. Haha. On the way home, Jessie and I were talking non-stop about tennis. Gosh.. didn't know she also follows tennis as much as I do. Thanks guys for the Avril Lavigne's CD. It's really nice. I practically like all the songs in the CD. And The Calling's CD rocks too! Can't stop listening to these 2 CDs now.

Thanks to ai lian, anna, sin hui, shuping, charb, yanxi, bing yi, wendy and bernice for the birthday smses. I really appreciate them. Thanks also to li lian for the class present. Really love the water bottle and the shirt! Hehe..wore the shirt today. And thanks to ai lian for the unique key chain. Now I'll literally have my bible with me. Though it's a bit hard to read with the super small writing. Haha.

Another weekend..another week of holiday gone. Sigh... there're still so many things I want to do and yet so little time. Gotta really start studying now. Bleah.

French Open
I watched the men's singles final between Gaston Gaudio and Guillermo Coria. As it was an all-Argentinian final, I thought the match would be quite boring. But I was so wrong. The match lasted four hours, and in the end, it was 0-6 3-6 6-4 6-1 8-6 to Gaudio's favour. Gosh..the match was so exciting! There were a few incredible moments when both players just hit amazing shots, and it was also a dramatic match. At first I thought Coria would run away with the match after he won the first two sets 6-0 6-3 easily. Gaudio was just so nervous he couldn't play properly. But then in the middle of the third set, the crowd did a really long wave, Kallang wave, and he relaxed a bit and played better. Still Coria should've won the third set. The turning point came in the fourth set when at 1-1, Coria had to call the trainer cos he had cramps. He was practically reduced to a walking pace in the fourth set after that and couldn't serve properly. It even looked like he was going to retire. I guess he just wanted to lose the fourth set and continue with the fifth without further hurting his leg. Still, it was quite a shock to see Coria magically restored and see him run like he had never hurt his leg. Coria certainly played better in the third set as Gaudio's nerves got the better of him again. He even held two match points, but that was when he cracked. And Gaudio went on to win. Coria looked like he wanted to cry after the match. I kind of felt sorry for him. He had a two sets lead and two match points and just had to get injured. But I think his wife is quite pretty. Gosh..I can't believe I just spent one whole long paragraph talking about the match.

Ok now I really miss playing tennis. I really really do. A few weeks ago, I was still kind of sick of it, but now I'm really itching to play again. I must have been inspired to play after watching the French Open. I really wish I have cable so that I can watch more tennis (and soccer of course) matches. But so far my mum has refused. And refused. Think they should really show more tennis matches on TV. I mean they're like showing every single golf tournament, so they should be able to show tennis matches too right?

I'm really thinking too much of tennis now. And The Calling's song Our Lives is also stuck in my head.
