French Open
I watched the men's singles final between Gaston Gaudio and Guillermo Coria. As it was an all-Argentinian final, I thought the match would be quite boring. But I was so wrong. The match lasted four hours, and in the end, it was 0-6 3-6 6-4 6-1 8-6 to Gaudio's favour. Gosh..the match was so exciting! There were a few incredible moments when both players just hit amazing shots, and it was also a dramatic match. At first I thought Coria would run away with the match after he won the first two sets 6-0 6-3 easily. Gaudio was just so nervous he couldn't play properly. But then in the middle of the third set, the crowd did a really long wave, Kallang wave, and he relaxed a bit and played better. Still Coria should've won the third set. The turning point came in the fourth set when at 1-1, Coria had to call the trainer cos he had cramps. He was practically reduced to a walking pace in the fourth set after that and couldn't serve properly. It even looked like he was going to retire. I guess he just wanted to lose the fourth set and continue with the fifth without further hurting his leg. Still, it was quite a shock to see Coria magically restored and see him run like he had never hurt his leg. Coria certainly played better in the third set as Gaudio's nerves got the better of him again. He even held two match points, but that was when he cracked. And Gaudio went on to win. Coria looked like he wanted to cry after the match. I kind of felt sorry for him. He had a two sets lead and two match points and just had to get injured. But I think his wife is quite pretty. Gosh..I can't believe I just spent one whole long paragraph talking about the match.

Ok now I really miss playing tennis. I really really do. A few weeks ago, I was still kind of sick of it, but now I'm really itching to play again. I must have been inspired to play after watching the French Open. I really wish I have cable so that I can watch more tennis (and soccer of course) matches. But so far my mum has refused. And refused. Think they should really show more tennis matches on TV. I mean they're like showing every single golf tournament, so they should be able to show tennis matches too right?

I'm really thinking too much of tennis now. And The Calling's song Our Lives is also stuck in my head.
