Finally got my visa approved today :) will probably be able to get it next week. Going to US embassy this morning was an.. interesting experience. When I got there, I had to give the woman at the front counter the letter from the embassy and my IC. Then had to scan my bag and stuff. Tight security check huh. After that, I went in and walked along this long corridor. I felt quite intimidated walking along it; maybe it's cos it's surrounded by high barricades, and the corridor was really really quiet. Then after that I came to this door and the notice on the door told me to wait until the security guard signalled at me to enter. So the security guard signalled at me after that, but at that time, I saw someone coming out from the building so I tried to go in through the same door the person came out from. The security guard straightaway pointed that the door I was trying to go in from was actually the exit door and not the entrance door! Haha what was I thinking of? Ok anyway after that, I had to pull the lever on the door down and push the door, but it was soooo heavy. Gosh.. then there were 2 Caucasian guys standing around the door at that time, and they were like, "Push harder push harder" haha. Then after that I went into the room and had to take a number. Now, my idea for the interview was a normal interview, like you sit in a room kind of interview. Only when I was waiting did I realize that the interview would be done standing in front of a counter, in front of everyone else waiting in the room, and the interviewer would be standing on the other side of the counter. Quite informal. Anyway, my interview went better than I expected. I think I was lucky in that I got quite a nice interviewer. She actually didn't ask the trickier questions that I expected, like what will you be doing after you graduate, will you want to work in the US, etc. Instead, I was asked, "How's your Chinese?" (I had included a letter saying that I'm learning Chinese after I graduated). Then she also asked, "How're your Chinese lessons? Are they good? Cos if they are, I can recommend it to a few of my friends". Haha I nearly laughed at her questions.. I mean, I found it amusing. Of course she also asked the other usual questions, like my parents, purpose of going there, my uni and major. The interview was really fast.. like about 3 minutes. But it was still an interesting experience to me.
Anyway, went to watch Madagascar with Anna, Saby and Zanet just now. I actually wasn't planning to watch the movie at all, but it's really funny. The characters/animals are just so cute! Going to watch Lost now..
